About & Export Capabilities
SATHOP was founded in Sfax in 1927, originally extracting olive-pomace oil to make edible oil and olive-oil soap, and began refining vegetable oils in 1948. The company states that it is among the leaders in refining and bottling vegetable oils on the Tunisian market and that it exports a significant share of its production. Since 2005 it has refined, packed and bottled corn, sunflower and soybean oils and frying oil under the OLINA brand, and it says it has an in-house laboratory to ensure consistent quality and product compliance. Its plant is in the Poudrière Industrial Zone in Sfax, and its registered office is in the Ariana Industrial Zone (Tunis-Carthage).
