Untaş Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., based in Çankırı, is the company behind the Türkmen Makarna brand. According to its milestones page, production began in Çankırı in 1980 when its first factory started producing flour. A feed factory followed in 1989, a semolina factory started operating in 1995, and a pasta production line was commissioned a year later. The company says it processes Anatolian durum wheat using Swiss Bühler technology on turbothermatic production lines. It states that raw material is chosen by wheat experts and that samples from production batches are analysed as part of its quality and traceability checks. It describes Türkmen Makarna as one of the important organisations in Türkiye's pasta sector. The product range covers pasta, wheat flour, durum wheat semolina and catering pasta. The products page lists 28 shapes, including spaghetti, penne, fusilli, elbows, farfalle, vermicelli and couscous. Shapes such as farfalle, elbows and vermicelli come in 500 g packs and 20 x 500 g cartons, while catering pasta comes in 5 kg packs. The site says Türkmen Makarna is on tables in more than 30 countries, without naming them. Its policy page refers to products holding a halal certificate under the general requirements of OIC/SMIIC-1, and also mentions quality and food safety management systems and an ISO 50001 energy management system.
