Al Watania Poultry Egypt is the Egyptian arm of Al Watania Poultry, founded in Saudi Arabia in 1977 by Sheikh Sulaiman Al Rajhi; its Egyptian activity began in 1988 with Al Watania for Grandparents, followed by hatcheries, broiler production and feed production. In 2009 Al Watania for Poultry Processing was established with a slaughterhouse in Wadi El Natroun, Beheira Governorate, featuring Islamic slaughtering and processing lines for fresh and frozen chicken and lines for fully and half-cooked chicken products, using air-chilling. Its range covers fresh, frozen, chilled, marinated and ready-to-eat chicken as well as table eggs.
