Al-Zahrawan for Trading and General Contracts and Oil Services

Al-Zahrawan for Trading and General Contracts and Oil Services Ltd presents itself as one of Iraq's leading limited-liability companies in trading, oil services and food trading. Its website says it was founded in Baghdad in 2008 to meet the needs of the Iraqi market and supply products suited to Iraqi consumers, and that at the beginning of 2013 it created a trading department specialised in importing and exporting food and beverages, detergents and other consumer goods. Its office is in Baghdad's Al-Jamiaa area on Al-Rabee Street, and it also lists an address in Tikrit, Salahaldeen. The company is also active in oil and gas trading, construction, automotive oils and shipping; this profile covers only its food business. The company says it runs its food business through distribution points in every Iraqi province from north to south, selling directly to major wholesalers and main provincial dealers. The site lists distribution centres for the food department in Basra, Maysan, Nasiriyah and Samawah in the south, Baghdad, Babil, Najaf and Ramadi (Anbar) in the centre, Mosul, Tikrit and Kirkuk in the north, and Erbil and Sulaymaniyah in the Kurdistan Region, with two stores in each of these provinces. It says it distributes to 55,000 direct points of sale, a number that can grow with delivery vehicles assigned to each province, and that 32 specialised staff serve customers across the provinces. The site says the company has supplied, marketed and distributed products including juices from 150 ml to 2 litres in Tetra Pak, PET, metal and glass packaging, with brands such as Nazek, Tintin, Hunar, Breeze, Top Live, Top Al Rayyan and Farfesh; full-fat and low-fat milk powder with brands such as Cow Paw, Al Mudhaish, Al Munuish, Al Ajeeb and Enjoy; potato, corn and oat chips; corn, sunflower and palm frying oils and pure olive oil; biscuits, chocolate including Nestlé, wafers and cakes; and rice, sugar, flour, grains, pulses and spices. The company says it holds agencies for many food products from Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and elsewhere, and that its current focus is on global agencies for these categories. Its site says it aims to provide high-quality products that meet international standards at competitive prices for shop owners and major traders, lowering the price for the Iraqi consumer.
