Armela Farms is a Dubai-based hydroponic farming company that grows fresh leafy greens in an indoor, controlled environment in the UAE desert. The company handles growing, on-site storage, packaging and distribution itself, delivering produce from farm to fork. Its range includes fresh lettuce, the ready-to-eat Simply Salads line (Chopped Romaine, Veggie Salad, Rainbow Salad, Leafy Salad, Garden Salad and Shredded Iceberg) and the Armela Fresh range of vegetables for everyday cooking. The Happy Snacking line offers snack vegetables such as Snack Cucumbers, Rainbow Cherry Tomatoes and Cucumber Poppers, alongside fresh kale and Armela Snacks flavored kale chips in Paprika Lime, Garlic, Sea Salt and Zaatar. The farm's hydroponic technology allows year-round production (365 days of crops) with about 80% less water than traditional farming and no pesticides. Procedures are monitored against a HACCP plan, and the company's stated vision is to strengthen food security in the UAE and reduce reliance on imports.
