Bidfood Middle East says Bidfood UAE was established in the UAE in 2003 as Horeca Trade (HORECA Trade L.L.C, the name still shown on its distribution-centre addresses) by founder and CEO Hisham Aljamil with a team of 9 people, the name reflecting its focus on hotels, restaurants and cafés, which were and remain its primary customer base. In 2005 it joined Bidcorp (then Bidvest), the global foodservice leader, creating Bidfood Middle East, which today operates in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain; all four markets were rebranded as Bidfood in 2019. The UAE operation is presented on a dedicated page of the group site. The company says its UAE distribution centres deliver to all Emirates daily, with one distribution centre in Dubai Investment Park 2 and another in Mussafah (ICAD 2) industrial area, Abu Dhabi, serving restaurants and hotels across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the Northern Emirates from temperature-controlled facilities. In 2021 it launched myBidfood, an online ordering platform it describes as a first of its kind for foodservice in the region, and it also runs Bidfood Home, which lets consumers order via a website and mobile apps with delivery across the Emirates. The company says it offers a full portfolio of world-leading food and beverage brands, including S.Pellegrino, Acqua Panna, Lamb Weston, Anchor, Fever-Tree, Nutella and Impossible. It publishes UAE catalogues for 2026–2027 covering a general Product Guide, Premium Cheeses, local and imported seafood (Bidfresh), Center of the Plate beef, fruits, vegetables, microherbs and microgreens (Bidfresh), Bakery & Pastry, and Commodities. In 2022 it announced a distribution agreement to supply St Pierre brioche to UAE foodservice and an exclusive foodservice distributorship for JING Tea, which it called the first tea brand in its portfolio. The group says it launched Bidfresh in 2025 as its fresh category covering seafood, meat, poultry, fruits and vegetables; its stated vision is to be and always be the leading partner to the foodservice channel, and its purpose is to enable food operators to provide an amazing dining experience to end consumers.
