Delta Food

Delta Food is a company of the food division (MSG Food) of Mahgoub Sons Group, a diversified Sudanese conglomerate founded in 1969 with a core focus on agribusiness and headquartered at 3 Zubair Pasha Street, Khartoum. The timeline published on the group's website states that Delta Food was first established in 1994 to enter the food import market by importing bulk lentils, sugar, flour and milk, while its company page describes it as a modern food packing facility in Khartoum North, established in 2012 and equipped with the latest technology in the packing industry. The group says its first entry into the consumer market came in 2012 through Delta Pack, which repacks imported bulk food items into consumer sizes that are distributed by Delta Food, and that the facility produces a range of food products in multiple sizes to meet different consumer needs. The website does not publish a list of the states or branches covered by the distribution network, but it states that the group's food division set up an office in Saudi Arabia in 2022 and that the group has offices in the UAE, Egypt, the United Kingdom and China in addition to its Khartoum headquarters. The company page states that in 2018 Delta Food became the exclusive distributor for Nestlé in Sudan, launching Maggi bouillon and infant formula SKUs on the Sudanese market. The products packed at the facility include household essentials: lentils, short- and long-grain rice, milk powder and sugar. The “Products and Brands” section of its page shows the food division's brands, including Delta Milk powdered milk, Habba Habba rice and lentils, Al Sultan sugar and Nabra, alongside Alwafi halva and tahini, Ashragat halva and Wafi Tella spread produced by the sister company Delta Sweets. The website states that the sister Delta Sweets facility in Gedaref became the first food facility outside the capital to be ISO 22000 certified, that the food division's R&D team has developed confectionery products based on local crops to launch four new product lines, and that the division has started manufacturing halva in Egypt and tahini in the GCC to secure supply to its export markets. The group sums up the food division's strategy as quality food at affordable prices, within a five-year “From Farm to Shelf” strategy it launched in 2022.
