Guard Agri Research & Services (Pvt) Ltd, owner of the "Guard Rice" brand, was founded in 1989 in Lahore as the first private-sector basmati producer in Pakistan to operate its own in-house research and development facility. It is part of the Guard Group, established in 1948, a diversified house spanning manufacturing, auto parts, lubricants and agriculture. The company operates from its Raiwind Road facilities in Lahore and the Guard Rice Mills on Sheikhupura Road, with integrated processing lines, modern optical sorting and an in-house quality laboratory. Its range covers the basmati grades Ultimate, Supreme, Super Kernel, Super Kernel Sella, Easy Cook, Awami, Tibar and brown rice, alongside Guard refined salt. Products are exported to more than 30 countries across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Africa.
