About

Hassan Ali Rice Export Company (HAREC) was established in the early 1970s as a fourth-generation family business, headquartered in the historic Cotton Exchange Building on I.I. Chundrigar Road in Karachi. It is recognised among Pakistan's top 30 exporters for fiscal year 2025 and exhibits at global trade shows such as Gulfood in Dubai and FoodAg Pakistan. Its range covers 12 rice grades: basmati 1121 (white, creamy sella, golden sella and steamed), PK-386, IRRI-6 in multiple broken grades (5%, 10%, 25%), and C-9 long grain. Beyond rice, the company exports Pakistani sesame seeds (hybrid, natural, hulled and black), dried red chillies from Kunri in Sindh, and fine and coarse pink Himalayan salt from Khewra, while importing wheat, lentils, pulses and chickpeas. It operates under a commercial umbrella linked to the Hashwani Group, exporting to the Middle East, Africa, Europe, the USA, the UK, Asia and Central America.
