MATCO Foods Limited, founded in 1964 by Syed Sarfaraz Ali Ghori, is one of South Asia's leading basmati rice processors and exporters, headquartered in Karachi. It operates five processing plants in Karachi, Sadhoke (Punjab), Larkana (Sindh) and Faisalabad, and in 1990 built Pakistan's first fully-automated rice plant using Japanese Satake technology. Its flagship brand "Falak" has been present in international markets since 1999, with products reaching more than 60 countries across six continents. Beyond basmati and long-grain rice, the company produces rice-derived food ingredients: organic rice syrup, maltodextrin, rice protein, rice flour, corn starch and pink salt. MATCO has been listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange since 2018, received equity investment from the World Bank Group's IFC, and holds ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, Halal and organic certifications.
