Al Malahi Corporation for Import & Export is a Yemeni trading house based at 14 Sheraton Street, Sana'a. Its website states that it was founded in 1977 in Raydah District, Amran Governorate, initially trading foodstuffs within Yemen. In the early 1980s it expanded into importing food and plastic materials, mainly from Saudi Arabia, and at the end of the 1990s and start of the 2000s it added exclusive agencies, imports under its own trademarks and logistics. It describes itself as a leading trading and service corporation in Yemen with more than forty years of experience. The corporation says it owns a fleet of transport trucks and has branches in most governorates of Yemen, and that its main activity is importing foodstuffs and plastic materials and providing transport services. It offers domestic and international road transport with its own fleet for food and non-food goods throughout Yemen, warehousing and distribution from its warehouses, and customs clearance, customs consultancy and cargo insurance. It says it studies market needs, deals directly with manufacturers and regularly attends international exhibitions to find new products. The exclusive agencies it names are Golden Group of Turkey, including Golden Best 3-in-1 and Classic coffee, Golden flavoured instant drinks and Gurbet white cheese; Neugebauer of Brazil, including Big Lollipop; the National Fruit Juice Company of Saudi Arabia, maker of Danah orange, mango, guava and mixed-fruit drinks; and Mammen Cheese of Denmark. Its product gallery also shows Royal natural mango pulp, Rosetta sardines, Madkhanatin canned fish, Gardo full-cream milk powder, Caramelos candies, Seno chocolate bars and a range of chewing gums and sweets. The corporation imports products under its own Arabic Hospitality (Al Diyafa Al Arabia) brand: instant yeast from Futuresun Group of China, and cream and custard powder from Delta Food of the UAE; the site also shows tahini halva, crème caramel and jelly under the same name. It says its vision is to become the leading corporation in importing, marketing and distributing high-quality food products in the Yemeni market and to provide fast, safe transport and logistics.
