Modern Milk & Juice Co., known by its Hana Farms brand, was established in Al-Ghouta in the Damascus countryside. The company states it was the first dairy company set up under Investment Law No. 10 relying on fresh milk for all its products, the first to introduce UHT technology in Syria, the first to fill long-life milk in plastic bottles needing no refrigeration, and the first to use Tetra Pak cartons for milk. Its range includes full-cream and low-fat long-life milk, flavored milk (banana, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, Oreo), yogurt and labneh, spreadable cheese in triangles and cups, processed block cheese, kashkaval, and mozzarella and akkawi for restaurants and pizza, plus cream desserts and juices; it also markets the Zein brand. The company states its products cover Syrian cities and neighboring countries including Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Yemen.
