Unipal General Trading Company is an Amman-based company that presents itself as one of the leading full-service FMCG distributors in Jordan. It is a subsidiary of the Unipal Group, established in 1994 by the Arab Palestinian Investment Company (APIC); the company's site describes APIC as an investment holding company with subsidiaries in Palestine, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, whose trade and distribution arm includes Unipal and whose manufacturing arm includes Siniora Food Industries. Unipal says its services cover full route-to-market management, distribution, supply chain and logistics, through to in-store execution. The company says it operates four distribution centres: two in Amman (food/cold storage and non-food), one in Irbid and one in Aqaba. The Amman centres cover 17,500 sqm with capacity for more than 19,000 pallets, with special storage areas for chilled and frozen products and a 45-day safety stock. A 36-person shipping team runs 28 trucks delivering within 24 to 72 hours of an order, plus 14 vans working mainly in the food and confectionery division. It states that its products are found in more than 10,000 points of sale, more than 4,000 of them covered directly, and that it serves traditional stores and groceries, modern trade, wholesalers, pharmacies, cosmetics stores, roasteries, creperies and HoReCa, with more than 320 employees. The company says it works with more than 20 leading global suppliers and more than 60 brands. Its Our Brands page shows food brands including SunRice rice, Nadec dairy, Siniora, FrieslandCampina and Rainbow milk, Al Alali, Heinz, Mars Wrigley and its Wrigley, Extra and Starburst brands, Hershey's and Reese's, Arcor, Lotus Biscoff, Lago, Breitsamer honey, Kean and Sunwhite. The company states that it applies Unipal Group systems derived from P&G's global distributor systems and complies with P&G quality-assurance standards, fully implementing their 19 key elements. It uses SAP, Tableau and mobile-sales tools, has dedicated sales teams for each business line and channel, a trade-marketing unit and a key-account team. It says it is a member of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, sums up its values as leadership, ethics and people, and describes its mission as being the number-one value-added, full-service FMCG distributor in the markets where it operates.
