Zarzour Group
Manufacturer• Syria• Member since 1942
Zarzour Group says its name was established in 1942 in Damascus's Medhat Pasha Market by Mohamed Kamel Zarzour, a trader in food imports and exports; his son Mohamed Zarzour then moved the business into producing and packing foodstuffs, especially spice blends, before the next generation joined and it became a family company. Today the group comprises the Zarzour, Al-Beshr, Sabah Alnour and Kafta brands. Zarzour has produced Turkish coffee since 1968, on a fully automated line since 1989, in Mocha, with Cardamom, Extra Cardamom and Double Extra variants in 100, 200 and 500 g vacuum packs; more than 40 spices and blends such as seven spices, shawarma, kabsa, mandi and sujuk spices in zipper bags and plastic jars; a ready falafel mix that it calls a world first; green (Jordanian blend) and red (Royal blend) thyme; and extra virgin and virgin olive oil in glass and plastic bottles from 250 ml to 5 L and 10 L tins. It also packs and markets black, green, white and flavoured teas, tongol tuna, rice, and a soy-based Kafta meat substitute with frozen dishes such as kubbeh, burak, sujuk and spring rolls. The company states that it has packed olive oil since 2003 in cooperation with Syria's largest olive oil producer, using an Italian filtration system and an AVA filling line with a capacity of over 250 tons per 24 hours, and that its products are sold across Syria, in neighbouring countries and in some Arab and foreign markets, with a stated aim to grow exports. Importers can order through the site's import form, the trading department or WhatsApp.
