Roma Trading Group

Roma Trading Group is a Saudi company based in Jeddah. It says it started in 1990 as a seller of fast-moving consumer goods in the Kingdom and has since become a trading group in the GCC specialising in fresh and frozen food supply. It describes itself as the leading wholesaler of food products such as frozen meat, poultry, seafood, pulses, dry fruits and selected canned foods, and as Saudi Arabia's biggest frozen and fresh food supplier. The company states that it has more than 15 branches and offices in four locations within the Kingdom, distribution centres in major GCC cities and a fleet of more than 150 distribution vehicles, and that it serves bakalas (grocery stores), supermarkets, hypermarkets, hotels, restaurants, cafés and sub-distributors through channel partners across the Kingdom. Its head office is in Lana Plaza in the Al Amir Sultan (Al Nahda) district of Jeddah, with two branches in the Petromin/Mahjar area of Jeddah. Its website presents seven categories: fresh, chilled and frozen foods (chicken; beef, lamb and veal; fish; fruits and vegetables); rice, pulses and spices (basmati, jasmine and parboiled rice; cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, turmeric and more); dairy and eggs (milk, butter, condensed milk, cheese and eggs); nuts and dry fruits (cashews, walnuts, almonds, pistachios, peanuts, macadamias); grocery (sauces, honey, salt, olives and pickles, cooking oils, jams and spreads, Belgian and Swiss chocolate, ghee); beverages (soft drinks, juices, energy drinks and water); and processed foods (nuggets, samosas, meatballs and burgers). Roma says it is the top supplier of Jagua Brazilian chicken and Fakieh chicken in Saudi Arabia, and one of the region's biggest suppliers of Brazilian, Australian, New Zealand, Chinese and Indian beef. It states that it holds SQF and HACCP certifications and conducts shelf-life studies on its chicken and meat products.
