Waqar Rice Mills (Pvt) Ltd was founded by the late Mian Abdul Rasheed in 1965 in Kamoke, District Gujranwala, starting with a single conventional husking machine. The business expanded in 1982 with modern husking and milling technology, and is led today by Mian Waqar Aziz as CEO, Mian Mohsin Aziz as Director of International Sales & Marketing, and Mian Usman Aziz as Director of National Sales & Marketing. The company runs three facilities in Kamoke equipped with Japanese (Satake) and German (Bühler) machinery, with 9 fumigation chambers and megawatt-scale backup generation at each site. It holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO 22000:2018, HACCP, GMP, HALAL, KOSHER, BRC and GlobalGAP certification, and is a member of the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP). Its range covers Super and Super Kernel basmati, 1121 (white, steamed and sella), traditional basmati, D-98, PK-386, IRRI-6 and IRRI-9, under the Ocean Pearl (international), Waqar Rice and Zafarani (domestic) brands. It exports to nearly 60 countries worldwide and employs between 500 and 1,000 people.
