Al Salam Mills Co. (Zaidan Alammouri & Sons) states that it was established in Amman in 1960 as a small family business and is today a multi-category food producer and a recognised exporter of branded food products. Its range includes Al Salam thyme (za'atar) in easy-open packs and baladi thyme; single spices and blends such as Mansaf, Biryani and Bukhari spices (the company says it offers more than 75 spice items in various weights, with packing on request); Teeba herbs and herbal drinks such as anise, chamomile and caraway; Marina jelly, baking powder and cake mixes; plus Arabic and French coffee, tahini, rice (Zaidan and Abu Al-Dahab), maftoul couscous, ketchup, vinegar, rose and blossom water, chicken stock, mastic and mahlab, and therapeutic oils such as black seed oil.
