Alragawi General Trading Establishment is a Yemeni company headquartered in the Sheraton area of Sana'a. It describes itself as working in enhancing food and dining through a system that combines retail and wholesale stores, the distribution and marketing of food brands, and light food manufacturing. It traces its origins to 1954 in Al-Milh (Salt) Market in the Old City of Sana'a, where Hajj Abdullah Saleh Alragawi and his brother Hajj Hussein Saleh Alragawi traded grains and spices; it moved into wholesale in the 1970s and 1980s, opened in the Sheraton area in 1990 and a retail branch there in 1995, when structured operations began under its current name alongside imports and international agencies, and launched manufacturing in 2000 by packing fenugreek, then curry and spices. The company has three sectors: the Alragawi stores chain, with four branches in Sana'a (Al-Milh Market, Sheraton, Shumaila and Amran Roundabout, opened in 2024 as its largest) plus wholesale points; Alragawi Trading, responsible for distributing and marketing food products, local brands and international agencies, which it says covers all governorates of Yemen through grocery stores, retail outlets, mid-level and major wholesalers and specialised outlets such as supermarkets and restaurants, backed by warehouses, sales teams and a distribution fleet; and Alragawi Industrial, which blends, grinds and packs spices and table enhancers. Its international agencies shown on the site are Bareeka (vanilla and baking powder), Ajinomoto (flavour enhancer), Cowpow (full-cream milk powder), Kinza (soft drinks), Lift Up (energy drink), Fayrouza (basmati rice and pasta), Al-Tawoos (jujube), Al-Jameel (tahini halawa), Al-Tabbakh (spice blends), Marhabtayn (sella basmati rice), Boulevard (canned mackerel), Village House (milk powder) and Baitoti (olive oil). Its local brands include Alragawi fenugreek, Alragawi curry, Alragawi pure spices and blends, Al-Tabbakh salt, Vitababy baby food, Diyafah popcorn and Khayrat Zaman coffee. The company says its locally made fenugreek, curry and spices reach capitals in America, Europe and Asia through agents and distributors, that products from the Alragawi Spices Factory have earned local and international awards and quality, conformity and occupational health and safety certifications, and that more than 1,000 people work for it and its agents directly and indirectly. It sums up its vision as being the preferred brand for enhancing food and dining.
