Abu Aita Pasta Company in Beit Sahour, Bethlehem, was founded by Khalil Jiryis Abu Aita and his sons Wadea and Fouad, and is described as one of the first food manufacturers in Palestine and Jordan. It moved from semi-automatic machines to Italian and European equipment over the years. It makes macaroni, vermicelli and maftoul; daily output is estimated at 20-30 tonnes with peak capacity up to 50 tonnes. It is managed by Khalil Fouad Abu Aita, the founder's grandson.
