Akova is a Turkish dairy company in Konya that sells under the OVA brand. The company states its story began in 1954 when Halil Akpınar set up a small business making cheese, yoghurt and butter; in 1977 the family built the first pasteurised dairy plant in the Konya region, and in 1997 it restructured Akova Süt ve Gıda Mamülleri San. ve Tic. A.Ş. and built its current modern facility, where it began producing milk powder and whey powder with fully automatic systems. The company says the plant now operates on a 25,000 m² covered area with a milk-processing capacity of 1,000 tonnes per day, and that milk from around 15,000 families across Central Anatolia is collected morning and evening at its own centres, chilled and brought to the Konya facility.
